Nice! Is he building it for you, or did he just design it for your use? Is there any internal baffling?

If it's meant for you to build on your own, isn't it missing the dimensions on the face of the box?

I have all the dimensions for the box, just posted the 3d renderings. He said there is no internal baffling as it isn't needed with the size and thickness (3/4").

Nice. Curious why the design frequency deviates from the posted chart on your subs?

I would also be curious to hear the difference between sealed "Clean Response" and "Increased Bass" both coming from a 6.5"...

I know he personally has two of them in his wife's Ford Explorer and said he's found this works better as well as provides me with the ability to replace them with something else in the event that there is a failure and these are not available any longer.

Do you have any thoughts on the Memphis MJM644 or MJM622?

What else would you look into for replacing those if it were needed?

I honestly am not much of a "know it all" when it comes to brands etc. I've been a big fan of Image Dynamics for their component lineup personally. I also like JL C2s but I haven't heard much else.

Got it, I just enjoy super loud and clear sound with tight bass. I'm even less versed than you, but my local brick and mortar shop that's been around for 41+ years pretty much default advises me to go with CDT components and Memphis subs and sometimes Memphis amps for the few builds me and my friends have done with him. I don't know any better so I just trust his experience haha

But I'm impressed by your build plan so far and I've contemplated 6.5's or 8's in the past, and I talked with the shop about going that direction maybe 6-7 years ago but I don't recall anything other than budget at the time pushed me to two Memphis 10's instead of the 6.5's or 8's.

I just swapped out the Kicker co-ax's that came in my 04 when I bought it for my CDT anniversary set, with just 2" tweeters in the door for now, and WOW what a difference even without a speaker amp. I'm considering getting the Audio Control D4.800 you have for the DSP, and possibly going with 6.5 subs as well.

Are you going to do any upstage tweeters or are all the components going to be mounted in the factory locations?

1597186453208.pngI’m partial to DC Audio. As an alternative to the Memphis subs.

Will it sit between the cab vents? Any one have any pics of an amp rack and a single 10"?

Double Din in an 01/02 fits weird, and you'll either need to trim the dash and make a little gap covering piece, or I think there's a high dollar new dash facia that you can use.

You guys made me go back to Diesel Place again......

Use an 03-up bezel, found in a junkyard. The rest is just time and fab work. Flow3n, you really dont know what you're talking about.....

Actually there is an aftermarket Double Din Kit that comes with a new facia for the 99-02 trucks. I think Metra sells it but not sure who actually makes the kit.

The AC controller being different on the 03-07 classic Requires the 99-02 AC control unit to be droped down to fit the 03-07 classic bezel properly.

I will get you a picture of one later today from a buddies truck.

The kit is like this for the 99-02 trucks.

Ok my buddy got the Sosche kit on FleaBay. I see it also sold under Metra as I posted earlier. Crotch Field I believe sells the Sosche but at a higher price than FleaBay or Scamazon.
