hope i'm posting this in the right place first off. I have a 02 silverado and the top mount of the diff has broken clean off. I found a guy that has a front diff out of a 02 2500 with a 6L. Is this the same part? I asked him for the vin that it came out of but he hasn't got back to me yet.
Thanks, G

the case is the same. the ratio is most likely different. you need to match ratios or you will have issues.

well if the case is the same thats half the battle. still waiting on the vin to find out the ratio. don't suppose you would know the ratio on my truck?

if the case didnt crack into where the ring and pinon are you can always get a cognito replacement ear for the pumpkin. most lift kits cut that part off so cognito made that part for guys who want to go back to stock

I don't want to put the truck back to stock. It has a 6" procomp lift on it. I just noticed while looking over the truck ( just got it a week ago) that the top diff mount was broken. Are you saying that this might of deliberately been done or something? IS it safe to use 4wd with this mount broken?

you need to put some pics of the diff up and how its sitting in there before i can say "yes its safe". its been a long time since i looked at a pro comp and they have 3 or 4 different generations of their kit out. But yes, 90% of the lifts out there cut that ear off then usually add another one lower toward the front of the truck. Id also fill out your signature on here cause ill bet everyone that looked in here thought you were stock height untill you told us it was lifted which changes alot
