Any vendor on here or does anyone know where I can purchase one of these for my 02? I can find them on E-bay but they say not for diesel's...... I'm looking for one exactly like this pic.

When you swap these out does the ECM update the mileage or does the clock stay at zero?

Mileage belongs to the cluster not to the ecm. I would have to supply the current miles to have the new one programmed.

Unfortunately I still haven’t found a diesel 02 cluster. I checked on the digital solutions site and they only list them for 03 and up.

you want a cluster or do you want the overlay?

I installed this overlay back in 2010. I bought a eBay cluster as my factory one was broken due to someone breaking into the truck. Just programmed the mileage in the new cluster and threw this stainless overlay on.

This would be perfect.......... so just purchase an overlay and needles, then I do the work to make it happen with my stock cluster??

Looks great Rick! Did you replace the bulbs wth blue leds while you were at it or they still standard? I also like the chrome around each gauge too. Mine only looks good during the day, I still have factory bulbs and at night I have a hard time seeing the needles.

I did not change the bulbs, so we are in the same boat, hard to see at night. I’ll get some in there!!

Once you do, post a pic please sir. I also don't light the yellowish light from the stock bulbs coming out from the center of each needle as they pass through the display at night. Ugly

You got an overlay for a gasser instead of a diesel? Does it have the wait to start indicator in the overlay? I looked into a custom overlay for mine, but they were wanting around $160 for a custom overlay. You can tell that's a gasser overlay because it has the 6K rpm tach whereas a diesel only has a 5K rpm tach. I'm not sure how GM calibrated the guages on the gmt-800 99-02 clusters. Earlier clusters used a calibration resistor you could swap out and make the tach correct, but not sure on the 02 how you would do it.

I ordered a gasser overlay a few years ago and sent it back cause everyone was saying the tach would be off. Never tried it so I’m curious how this works out

Tach seems to be good, I'll need to verify with my laptop, but so far so good. Just lost my WTS light.

Honestly, I had been looking for a diesel one and thought I found one. But didn't realize it wasn't for a diesel until after I installed it and started it up for the first time.

I believe that the tach will correct. You will just have a portion one the high end that will never get used

I thik Ben can reprogram, the cluster or BCM to make it correct if it is not.

The tach will be off. The gas overlay tops out at 6,000, but the diesel tops out at 5,000 at the same exact spot. So it will be off, roughly 20%, so when the engine is turning 1000, the tach will show 1200, or 3000 will show 3600. As to calibrating it, I'm not sure how the 02 cluster calubrated the guages. I haven't played with one to see if they used the old school ceramic resistor block, or if GM stepped up to the logic module for them.
