Hello guys, and gals. I have an 01 duramax gmc and my compressor clutch failed. I have all parts coming in tomorrow. Compressor, receiver/dryer, orifice tube, flush and o-rings. Does anyone know exactly how many ounces of 134 and type of oil and amount it takes to correctly charge the system? Also the pressure at which the high and low pressure switch activate/deactivate? I want to do it right. Thanks in advance.

if you want to do it right. your gunna need a vacuum pump to suck the system down and boil off the moisture once you put it all back together. the system takes 1.8lbs of freon and if you are completely flushing the system, add 6-8oz of PAG oil

Thanks. Yes I have a vacuum pump and gauges. I service all our equipment and trucks. But peterbilts hold 3 to 4 pounds! I usually watch the gauges on big trucks if I don't know the capacity. 250 on high side is cut off or cuts on fan then down to 75 or so gets it pumping again. I've just never done a pick-up truck. Thanks for that info. My system will be reasonable dry I plan to use flush and blow the lines out best I can. The compressor didn't fail and the system is clean. I just couldn't get a clutch.
