    To Boost Or No?

Hey guys, Just wandering if i would be better off running or not running the boost valve with my current set-up. I heard that when you're making more boost running down the highway that it negatively affects your mileage. Any truth to that? But i also do a lot of driving around town too...

    No Magnet?

I changed my spin-on today and to my surprise, there was no magnet anywhere to be found. Guess the last guy that changed it threw it out. How much of a hurry should i be in to pull that filter back off and put a new magnet on there?

    Any Ideas?

Since i know absolutely jack about transmissions, anybody have any idea what i could expect to pay (parts and labor) to get the 5-speed built up to hold some more power? Nothing crazy, just enough to be able to use the PPE standard up on level 5 (225/335) without smoking it?:beer

    LB7: Is This Bad Mileage?

So, i'm running the PPE on 120, got 265's for tires, and around town am getting about 14-14.5 MPG. Oh yeah, and that's rarely getting above 2k on the tach and all unloaded. I thought it should be better than this. Any suggestions or anything i should be concerned about, like a problem elsewhere?

    Tow/Haul Trickery

i've just got 265's on it. so, how do i know when the torque converter locks up? like i said, i really dont know anything about the ally yet and im not really used to it. also, is the grade braking what makes it hold in gear like that?

    Tow/Haul Trickery

Ok just a quick question since i'm still getting used to the way the Allison acts....put it on tow/haul today unloaded just to see what the other shift points were like. I just reset the TCM with the PPE about 200 miles ago, but haven't been in t/h mode since, or ever for that matter. Anyway...

    PPE Help?

well, i actually dont ever tow anything heavier than a bass boat and for the most part i drive like an old man since i'm so mileage conscious (never really take it up past about 2500 rpms, never even had it full throttle yet). i've also just been taking it easy for the sake of the stock trans...

    PPE Help?

ok..hopefully the last question. the programmer recommends having a pyro to run level 3 or above, which i dont have yet. should i be safe to run the 120 without one?

    Intake Heater Help Please!?

just did it tonight. used the drain plug. wasn't sure about the rubber o-ring on it so i reused the copper one from the heater. put a cap terminal over the wire, filled around it with liquid elec tape and then taped it up enough to survive a bomb blast. haven't thrown any codes yet. we'll see...

    Intake Heater Help Please!?

    Intake Heater Help Please!?

So, i want to delete my intake heater and everything i'm reading says you need efi live to turn it off. if i dont have efi can i use my xcellerator to clear the dtc and get the cel off? will having the circuit to the heater still active hurt anything?

    PPE Help?

got it set on 90. set up the quick re-learn..how long should i baby it to give the trans time to adapt? now i just gotta figure out if i want to keep it on 90 or bump it up to the 120:beer

    PPE Help?

ok..well i'm really never hard on it (never really go full throttle) so i guess i'll just have to choose between the 90 and 120. oh and judging by the shift feel, i think a previous owner may have possibly put a transgo kit in it or something so maybe that'll help:beer

    need a little advice

im right there in the same boat as you...and the boost valve is definitely one of the best bang-for-the-buck mods. i mean you can't go wrong with something thats 30 bux and proven
  18. gnar13

    PPE Help?

ok..well i rarely if ever take above about 2500 rpms here around town, so should i be ok with the shifts there?

    PPE Help?

so, on the 3-4, 4-5, and 5-4 you just back down off the throttle or what? I'm a little ignorant at the moment as I'm a little new to the diesel world

    PPE Help?

Ok, I've been searching the crap out of this and have been getting all the typical answers talking about RWHP and Hp at the flywheel and what tuner measures it where, so....Running my stock trans, and with my "modest" mods what setting should i be running the Xcellerator on (safely)? 90? 120...
