Well I thought I found it, unplugged what I thought it was but guess not as gauge still jumps all over. There is a smaller rubber hose on top of motor that transition into aluminum or metal as it goes into block. In the metal part sticking straight up is the sensor I thought? -

Where is it located so I can check? My temp needle is nuts... 160-260 back and forth. Did an infrared thermometer on the part where thermostats are located and am getting 162 degrees after truck has been idling for 20 minutes. Thanks!! -

Just got word from GM after fuel samples from the exploded CP4 -- they are covering the repair 100% and putting me in a loaner. Awesome customer service and a great company. -

Just wanted to update this thread: Truck is still at the dealer. I was transferred over to the GM helpline and was initially denied claim in full at just over 3k miles out of warranty. A senior advisor closed the case without even calling me which baffled even the dealer. I called them back... -

As a sidenote, I recommend anyone who has experienced this problem to report it to the NHTSA. I just reported my incident and if enough continue to do it GM should issue a safety recall. Losing all power, including power steering and brakes while at highway speeds pulling a 20k pound loaded... -
