    But the question remains, WHY. I set all valves to .012, I have read where many set there's to .010. I checked the lifter thinking maybe the roller got egg shaped somehow, looks perfect. Oh well, guess at 350k it probably was time for head work and gaskets anyway. Just hope it doesnt happen again.

    and we have a winner! Pulled it apart, broken pushrod on intake. Pulled the heads, with flashlight held just right I can see a faint impression of the intake valves on top of the piston. I somehow screwed up on valve adjustment! Engine still had original crimped headgaskets, ordered new "c"...

    If a new injector is suck wide open it could cause a burnt piston or wash out a cylider wall, correct?

    Thats what I wanted to hear. Your saying that an injector cup or injector could cause no compession? I have tryed to figure out how that can happen. All injectors were torqued to spec, how can the injector or cup cause a leak in the combustion chamber?

    I have received some stellar advice on this forum in the past, what changed. I will fill my crankcase full of diesel, destroy my engine because I have no compression in one cylinder! Why? I dont have any leaks.Hell I just installed new injectors!

    Had some very loose valve lash (some were .20), engine has over 350K on it. Other cylinders at 400 or better on comp test. I will fire it up again in the morning and check for crankcase pressure.     No popping I can hear Valves are adjusted to spec (.12). How could an injector fail and cause no compression?

    Just finished installing injectors from LDS, resealed all cups and adjusted the valves.. Fired it up and she purred like a big cat, no smoke. Waiting for the thermostats to open so I could top her off with coolant and go for a drive and BAM, she started missing and blowing unburned diesel out...

    okay, here it is, tomorrow i will list it as rust free truck with 1/3 million miles in perfect condition for $9000. Drive it where ever you are with confidence. I just drove it 2000 mile round trip to Estes Park and back pulling my 21 foot trailer and it never knew it was back there.
