VW uses the cp4 as well though a different version, that grenades as well though not as commonly.

The cp3 can still fail obviously, but they don't grenade like the cp4. The ones that do the swap argue it's easier to change the pump than potentially the whole fuel system with a cp4 grenade. If it were me I'd swap it cuz I wouldn't be relaxed otherwise. I figured with the cost of the swap I'd...

I think you could skip the sump honestly unless you just wanted it. Cp3 swap is a good idea, no cons to it other than cost. Lml is a good truck. Cp4.2 is still a variable even with the update. Uncommon failure but prevalent enough to spend money to avoid it happening. Deleted and with a cp4...

    F150 ecoboost - Any Insight?

It's no chevy :P. But for any non hd work it'll be fine. Honestly, over 8k lbs you're kind of pushing the limits of the 1/2 chassis. Yeah they are rated for more but it's a different ball game than a 3/4 or 1ton diesel. Even with all the trailer assist stuff. My 5.3 always felt very strong...

If you do calipers I had a hard time finding a better deal than the the reman powerstops. $350 for all 4, powercoated with stainless hardware and no lame torx bolts. The washers are copper though FYI so change those out

Supposedly one of the benefits of drilled and slotted is less heat retention and greater surface area for heat dissipation. I don't have any complaints with mine thus far and no signs of trouble yet

    Fell into an Lml

it's more rigid. It has cons as well as open c channel. It is technically stronger as it's rated for a different weight. But strength and durability are not always the same. If the boxed frame gets whacked good, its irreparable. It also won't yield, it loads until it fails. Failures are usually...

I figured saving some heat couldn't hurt. Wasn't too worried about cracked rotors but it's always possible. Just make sure there is only one drill per vein. These ones have a 2 year warranty against any failures or wear out. Only reason I got calipers is because my were seized up and the brakes...

I've got drilled and slotted centrics with ceramic pads. Also got power stop calipers. Have 10k on em with no issues. Stops better but let's be real it's a heavy ass truck. The difference was noticeable but she still stops like a tank. FYI with calipers I paid less than $800 out the door for...

    F150 ecoboost - Any Insight?

I just don't think I could live with a v6 and the lack of noise they make haha

    F150 ecoboost - Any Insight?

Biggest issue is carbon buildup in intake and oil in cac. Other than that it's a pretty slick half ton. I'd throw a borescope down and see how it looks and def get a catch can. They move tuned, closer To a diesel 1/4 than any other stock-ish truck

Get a catch can. Not sure on tuner.

Got rear ended. Need a list for the shop

Yeah I like it. It was the cleanest one I could find. Good price too. Bigger shackle mounts than most of what I saw for other options. The extra 150lbs has tamed the rear end some as an added perk when unloaded. I'm surprised how much different the truck looks from the back now, just gotta spray...

Got rear ended. Need a list for the shop

Yeah they're all basically the same including metallurgy from what I can tell. Looks like 50 beans less or so is the difference. Would cover the Alignment costs or a few 8 packs of Guinness for the install. I'm not too concerned just didn't know what the consensus for empire is or was. Just glad...

    Fell into an Lml

Why do you say that out of curiosity? I love my Lmm. I didn't like my '15 LML near as much and I plow with a '13 lml that really feels no different quality wise than my lmm except for those kickass seat heaters hah. Not starting an argument just wondering why you feel it's twice the truck.
