Actually I do have a scope! Couldn't I just hook up a voltmeter to the leads and then use that instead of a scope? Put a camera on both the voltmeter and the scanner and see what happens?

I want a scope but don't have one :( For some reason I cannot check the freeze frames for this for when the CEL goes off with my autel. Kind of weird.

Also I just made a realization thanks to @1FastBrick Take a look at this photo. Do you see how the TC VPS is at 0% where the commanded TC vane position is at 78? Well the solenoid has somehow gone to 0.0 amps meaning I guess it lost power. So am I looking at a bad solenoid or a wiring gremlin...

    P2563 and P003A

Have not had a chance to pull the solenoid out to clean it yet. I actually plan on pulling the egr system out to clean it out since who knows how much gunk and shit is in there and when I do that I will pull the turbo and clean it and rebuild it. I did add stiction eliminator and it seemed to...

    P2563 and P003A

Thanks @Pure Diesel I will try that out when I have time. @08lmm72mm You must have smaller fingers than I to get a socket in there and on the bolt head. or maybe I just suck. Most likely the latter.

No idea how I would pull this solenoid without the EGR cooler out of the way. I guess maybe move the oil line over? I don't know if it spins though.

I figured that might have possibly just been the scanner being slow but yes you are probably correct. Thanks brick, we'll see what I find tomorrow with the solenoid.

    P2563 and P003A

Got a P2563 code and a P003A code with the latter coming intermittently. Working theory is that the solenoid is getting stuck. Trucks oil was changed for the first time in 2 or 3 years last Monday and then 4 days later it went off. Code came back on Sunday and then just went off again today. I...

Yeah the vane solenoid and vanes is what I figured. I will try and command the vanes to move and see what happens. This truck is stock from everything I see. Certainly no lift pump. I am assuming once upon a time someone may have had a canned tuner but it is not deleted.

P2510 P2610 P2563 I also had a P003A code but I have not seen that one again recently. So far I cannot say for sure that I have any "issues" this truck is new to me so I am still getting my bearings on the power. I couldn't reasonably say for certain that the truck is low on power. I know the...

Good afternoon everyone! I just purchased about a week ago a 2006 LBZ GMC Sierra that was very very nice on the outside and inside. Test drive and a quick check around the common problem areas told me it was fine and off I went with my purchase. I was recommended this site by someone I know on...
