Help! Duramax won't start after water in fuel

Pull the glow plugs and crank it over. Might have a gut fuel of water.

    Need a cherry picker

x3 on the HF picker. I've abused mine for years and never had an issue beyond the bolts holding the wheels wanting to loosen up. Couple welds and no issues again.

    Great service as usual!

Thanks guys! Just trying to do it the right way.

    Mid-Engine 1965 IH Metro A-120 Dmax/4L80

I'll snap a pic when I get the chassis back underneath the body. Working on the 2-link now. Let's just say if it was a bench seat, the Dmax sits where a girlfriend would. :spit: Hopefully he can load enough kids up to slow him down. I don't think my creeper will have near the power his does.

    Mid-Engine 1965 IH Metro A-120 Dmax/4L80

Thanks guys. I think the plan for now will be to keep the body rusty, maybe just poly it to make it look more like brown leather. I can do bodywork and paint to some degree I just don't enjoy it, especially on a rolling billboard like this. Plus, I just want a cheap/fun/easy cruiser...

    Mid-Engine 1965 IH Metro A-120 Dmax/4L80

Here we go again. I still have my Dmax street rod but I got the itch to build something different a few months ago. Rewind to October 2014, I had a 65 Lincoln Continental that I was going to put a Dmax in but changed my mind after realizing how much I was going to need to butcher the car. Felt...

    6" bellmouth/turbo horn intake

I don't know these guys. Just remembered them from a thread on another site awhile back. Their site says they can make any size/length velocity stack. Hope that helps. http://www.castnersperformance.com/id17.html Edit: Found these guys as well. Price seems pretty decent...

Is this a ticking time bomb?

I can't hear anything in the video that sounds alarmingly. Sounds like a diesel. How is oil pressure? You could always cut a filter apart and look for bearing material. If it's coming apart that will tell the tale. The turbo looks a kinda sloppy but it doesn't [I]appear[/I that it's rubbing...

    Heatsheilds, heat wrap, turbo blankets

Typically not. There have been instances in the past with different combos that have had clearance issues but it's uncommon. The blankets will compress to just over 1/8" in tight spaces.

    Heatsheilds, heat wrap, turbo blankets

I tend to only recommend a 2" wrap on a downpipe. Everything else gets blankets since there isn't really a comparison to heat containment between the two.

    Rear Axle Crack

Can't really see that much from the pics. Could just be a fatigue crack caused from years of taking a beating. This might ruffle a few feathers but if it was me, I'd drill the ends of the crack, bevel the crack and clean it real well, lay a good weld on it, then check it every time you think...

    Heatsheilds, heat wrap, turbo blankets

Yeah, there are definitely some blankets out there that will get hammered from the overall temp a diesel can produce. That's why I use a 3 layer rather than a mesh to hold the insulation in. They tend to help spool more on larger, laggier setups. It's harder to notice the difference on the...

    Heatsheilds, heat wrap, turbo blankets

Sweet! It still surprises me how much difference just a turbo blanket can make on a sleepy single. Seriously good job wrapping those manifolds. I'm impressed.

    Heatsheilds, heat wrap, turbo blankets

Sorry, didn't see your reply til now. Yeah, oddly enough I get a lot of customer commenting on how much the blankets improve A/C performance so I think it would be worth your while if you're concerned about it.

    Heatsheilds, heat wrap, turbo blankets

Yes, I can make manifold blankets for factory manifolds. To be 100% honest, I ran a set on my tuned-stock turbo truck for years but didn't get a noticeable improvement when I added them to the up-pipe/down pipe/turbo blankets that were already installed. Not to say they didn't do anything, just...

    Need suggestions

It'll be set to whatever your base tune is in the tune file. And yes, if you have a dsp5 tune loaded then install the switch later, the switch will work normally as if you did it all at the same time.

    Heatsheilds, heat wrap, turbo blankets

    D. All of the above since blankets, coatings or heat shields will all have an impact on the things you mentioned. GM didn't use heat shields for heat retention so much as they used them for heat deflection. No shields on the up-pipes, downpipe, turbo and eventually the firewall insulation will...

    Godspeed turbos?

I know it isn't always directly linked but for some reason it always raises a red flag when an internet "innovator" can't use basic spelling, grammar or punctuation when trying to sling their latest greatest.

    Nitorus and the diesel

Chris, I'm not sure if you know, but Dave C is Wade from CompD. Might help you communicate more effectively. Or at least understand why it doesn't work.
