    Parallel Twin VGT's

Ben, I've seen it done both ways on gas. Mercury is using twin drive by wire "electronic" throttle bodies on the QC4v. Their intake looks to be separated, still searching for a cut away view. I believe banks used the same on his parallel diesels? However some of the aftermarket gas I've seen...

    Parallel Twin VGT's

Unless they have changed it lately, only two wires, so no feedback. Funny fact: I needed a couple wires to power the IPR valve on my 6leaker for pressure testing the oil rails this week. Found the left overs from my dmax harness job and guess what plug is exactly the same?? Duramax turbo and...

    Parallel Twin VGT's

Same way Mercury does it, ECM. It's a simple voltage thing. If I recall, didn't someone come out with split controller a while back? My first choice for turbos was the GT's off the 6.0L Ford, but I'm guessing they might be a bit large.

    Parallel Twin VGT's

Hey guys I've been reading a little on the advantages / disadvantages of parallel twins vs compounds or a big single in diesels. But who in here has any real world experience or data with parallel VGT's? As you may have guessed this for marine and not sled pulling or drag racing. Banks has...

Coal Rollers all over the news headlines

Keeping it real... Let me get some of those young punks on a wake board and I'll change their minds. :roflmao: I actually have one of DT Nick's LLY rich/lean MAF controllers tucked away on her. It's normally clean as a whistle but every once in a while I'll lay down a little for the...

    Duramax powered Ford

I'm about ready to do a street version conversion... My Six Leaker Harley Edition Powerstroke is on my nerves again with another high pressure oil leak. 195k miles and I'm gonna have to replace the valve cover gaskets this time due to wear and tear from taking them off so much. I often joke...

EFILive LMM Pyro for datalogging EGT's

Did you ever get that LMM sensor scaled out? I was working on a similar mod to use the LMM probe with the V2 a while back but lost interest. I did manage to get a donor LMM probe mounted up in a regular EGT k-type socket [see pic below] before I quit on it. Ya gotta drill out the socket [I...

    LBZ: Pulse Probs

Take it that's logging while hooked to a sled? Is probable some torque limiting is going on. Not bad, but a secondary or multiplier table is defiantly pulling back on ya. What's your torque tables look like up there?

Who is running AF (alternate firing) order cams, and for how long?

Is there any other known advantages to running an alternative firing order besides improving the harmonics? Like an improved torque curve, less bearing wear or anything? The original OEM AF swap was Ford switching the 302 to the 351W order when the new 5.0HO came out back in the 80's. History...

    Fuel temp too low???

Sounds to me like ya need one of these.. http://www.pacificp.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_7&products_id=54&zenid=j7g3gn1uk190q7rolbh15l1v91 Basically it's a plug that takes the place of the fuel pressure bypass valve. The tune your running is probably spiking the fuel...

    Fuel pressure drop

Sites like this can be very useful at helping members sort the areas "cool" dealerships and techs from the "by the book" ones when it comes to certain modification. Most of the good Dmax tech's I know are gear heads, and always up for a test drive in a hot ride... So if you take it in for...

    Fuel temp too low???

What pressure do you see it hit before it falls off? There is a fuel pressure bypass valve in the back of the drivers side fuel rail that will pop open if you exceed it's rated spring pressure. Being it's fine in stock tune, betting that's it. Block off unit cost like $35 at PPE. Fuel filters...

    Dash Logic DIC gauges?

I've been reading on the Class 2 data line DIC's [pre-gmlan] for another project, and your correct about the refresh speed. It's gonna get annoying very quickly. Like comparing dial-up to DSL speeds. Both work in the same way, but ones not gonna be happily streaming movies...

    LBZ Tuning????????????

    LBZ Tuning????????????

LOL... I almost felt sorry for him, but that faded by page two. Reminds me of a someone I know with a shop who ran out and purchased a V2 soon after I told him I had one. Then calls me up offering to pay if I would teach him how to write diesel tunes. Which I replied, "you can't afford it...

    Dash Logic DIC gauges?

Easier fix here for the Dmax tuner crowd would be to just swap out the stock MAP with a 4 or 5 bar unit and recalibrate the sensor scaling table in EFI to match. 4-bar would get ya up to 45psi of corrected boost. Cool looking product..

    Fuel temp too low???

Yes, no resistance is gonna read like 302F, open circuit -40F. So unplug and check it. Sure sounds like a faulty sensor, or the edge is providing false info..

    Lly idle

Here is the "stock" B0701 settings from my friends LLY. Because mine is highly modified and installed in a boat, I can't say for certain what is pulling yours down to the low 500's. If yours matches this, it could be another multiplier table lowering it. I also agree with raising the fuel...
