Success! I went to change the resistor associated with the TOS signal and discovered that it had broken off - with the body of the resistor right against the board, one little bend and 'snap!'. Put a new resistor in line and MUCH BETTER! The run around the block was uneventful this time :).

I adjusted the POTs (holy smokes they're touchy!) and brought the key on voltage down to 1.0x volts (they were at 1.3 and 1.4 initially). Didn't get the VSS or Turbine related codes after that.

No pretty lights on the T87 stuff, but hooking up a scope, yep, that makes it easier.

Nice! I need to make a setup like that for the T87 testing so the T87 and interface module can sit on my dash while testing lol.

Welp... I have some info... maybe.... I scoped the VSS and Turbine outputs 'just because', and then I scoped the TOS output. While I was scoping the VSS/Turbine outputs, the speedometer flaked out every time it got over 20 MPH or so I believe. But when I was scoping the TOS output, it WOULD NOT...

I have a picoscope, so we should be able to get a look at it. Probably won't be able to do much until tomorrow or the weekend though.

Well, that was a semi-success.... When I first fired it up, had a P077C that was supposedly current and for some reason, the transmission refused to go into any gear. Cleared the codes and it would go into gear and all seemed pretty good. It shifted, but then the speedometer got erratic and ABS...

Lol nope. The ECM is my EFI licensed ECM that I took with me to make sure the connectors worked. Could have grabbed a few P12's or a 05/06 Northstar ECM though lol.

So this is interesting... Apparently the latest FILive Beta version added support for editing the T87A OS 24285377... Which happens to be the one that the Allison T87A Calibration uses...

    Seriously?

Saw this beauty in the junkyard today. Someone went a little nuts with the rattle cans lol.

Nice! Can the CAN gateway take discrete inputs (tap shift) and spit out CAN data, and take CAN messages (PRNDL, tap shift display) and spit them out on Class2? Or is it meant just for massaging the CAN messages that are different between the years?

EFILive 7.5 will open the T87 tune. For some reason I wasn't expecting it to work, but it did. I think the CAX8 is for v8, and CAX is for 7.5, so an existing CAX file 'should' still be fine in 7.5.

    T87 Swaps

There's not much going through my head lol. My thought is we may need to end up with a CAX file that can disable the solenoid and/or the diagnostic and DTC so it simply doesn't care, or an EFILive tune file that anyone can flash as part of the 'package'. The problem is the G Solenoid that's in...

How is the g-solenoid impedance issue being handled?

Nice! I do have blue connectors for the LLY, but I don't believe I have the other two, and I'm not sure if I have any that haven't been totally de-pinned. I'll have to take a look ad see if I might have a some connectors I didn't know I had.

    T87 Swaps

Well, that too.. The blue black and grey in the front left do line up with the E39A i have here too... But the grey one with no large pin has me stumped. It was nice of GM to start using the same connectors across multiple modules lol. Now where the heck did I put the connector I built for...

The two black connectors in the back look like T87 connectors, the blue grey and black ones in the front left look like LML, not sure about the grey one on the right.

Pretty sure it's Allison's replacement for the A40/A50 (5th Gen tcm, I assume), but as gm replaced the A40/A50 with the T87, I HIGHLY doubt there's a calibration in existence that would work right with the LCT1000 that's in the GM Pickups.
