    Twins with Twins, Anyone?

Thanks Josh. I'll hit him up tomorrow. Last week I flew another Ryan up from FL to help out. That got the drives on, and few more of our small bugs worked out. I ask him to try an put together a crew from Sarasota / Tampa Bay area since I have plenty of marine support around there. Checked...

    Twins with Twins, Anyone?

Got the drives back on, and the boat up on plane last weekend with some bigger props. Achieved a new top speed of like 49mph, before the 1:1 clutch packs slipped in both trannies when she came alive.. Not sure if turning up the line pressure will resolve things, or if both need trans to come...

LML The list of penalties keeps growing

Well if ya read any of the expidited settlements, it looks like it's costing the US citizens more than the violators. Pensacola sold the gov about 15k in delete kits and then paid back 12k in fines... Sent from a reclined position using Tapatalk

    L5P - ECM Swapping Options

Below is a quick side by side HSGMLAN ArbID comparison between a 2017 1500 LS powered truck [left], and the 2018 2500 L5P truck. As you can see, pretty much identical ID's. Besides adding some nodes/ID's, this same Hex ID and byte structure traces back to 2004 on the gasser side. The Chevy...

    L5P - ECM Swapping Options

Actually after LBZ, and not counting Serial Data Wake Up, the ECM & TCM only have HSGMLAN ports. LSGMLAN is mostly found in BCM links to other network nodes like doors and head unit. All the main stuff such as stability control communicates directly with ECM/TCM over HS. Which is good, because...

    LML Idle vane control

I don't typically run VNT turbos, but when I do. Wait, I've actually never owned one... :spit: Yes I'm no help. But I can say there is some missing tables related to boost and fueling control that Mark and I have noted. Guessing what your looking for is in one of those missing tables. If we...

    L5P - ECM Swapping Options

I'm gonna toss this here since it's currently a technical study. But hopefully this helps with stand alone and engine swaps going forward. So please add anything of value along those lines. Last year I had the change to check out some "stand alone" L5P's being controlled by E35 ECM's. When GM...

How's everyone doing with this virus crap?

Now have 2 face masks hanging from my truck mirror, and cup holder full of the most valuable commodities in a pandemic. War Dogs fans should get that one.. I have also expanded my circle of trust to little over 4000 now. Not by choice, just best guess based off the family and friends I'm stuck...

    FLIR / Thermal Imager

I tend to agree with ya that FLIR is probably not best tool to check human temps, especially when your trying to verify 1-3F difference. However when trying to quickly scan large groups of people, it should be useful at spotting the hottest temps out of a group. Basically same as scanning an...

    FLIR / Thermal Imager

Dang it now I'm gonna be up all night stalking around in the dark.. Any suggestions once I locate her??? The gray scale / white hot on this one actually has some decent range outside. My pond light's up nice in the dark at 100yards. Being a boater I agree, if you can afford a FLIR they are...

    FLIR / Thermal Imager

Played with one of these Snap-On thermal imaging units a year ago, and fell in love with it. So kept watching eBay for a good deal, and picked up one used for under $400 last week. Several affordable FLIR camera styles on the market now, some that just connect to a cell phone. And for under...

LBZ: ATI damper seems to small? Honing needed?

As Josh expressed, I've personally never had any issues with the ATI hubs being too tight on stock or Callies cranks. However the two early run FD units I installed pictured above, took one guy on the GM install tool, another doing some around the hub hammer action to keep it straight. And...

LBZ: ATI damper seems to small? Honing needed?

Grind the burr out of it, toss in the oven at 450F for an hour. Bet it goes then.. Think I did my ring gears at 420F or about and they dropped right on the flywheels. But act fast cause they shrink quick.

LBZ: ATI damper seems to small? Honing needed?

No help on the ATI hubs, I used the install tool, but started em with a BFH.. Sorry thrust washers... X2 on the Socket Head water pump bolt. Even if using a delete plate. I had an O-ring leaking just the other day.

    Twins with Twins, Anyone?

Got the drive boxes lowered last week. Now just waiting to get the lower units back from Cali. Both are together and ready to ship. While waiting on those to get here, decided to look at the MAP sensor resolution issue again. The 100psi sensor I originally went with works, but usable A/D...
