    Weird find

Having a library of parts for the GMT800 would be fantastic. I have a friend with a 3D printer, and we have designed & printed a couple odd things for my rigs. (The big project we are working on right now is a replacement center console cupholder thing to make the cupholders left+right instead...

Two is one, one is none. Lurking for a few years with tuning questions.

A puff of black smoke coming from a stop is 100% tuning. Odds are the MAF limits at low RPM are a little aggressive. You can ask your tuner to dial them down a little, which will clean it up no matter how hard you stand on it, or you can have your tuner adjust the throttle/desired torque tables...

    Weird find

If you find somewhere you can still get them to replace it, then absolutely. Also, please let us know because I need to buy a couple for my rigs.

    Need some guidance

That code seems more like a wiring issue. It could be a bad sensor, but given the no-start I would look for any wiring harness damage. A bad/unplugged DPF pressure sensor shouldn't prevent it from starting, it would just put it in a limp mode. Look at the harness anywhere it might have been...

    LB7 DIC MPG

5-8° depending on the RPM and load. That is basically just my NoLogic 3.0 tune if you want to download and compare.

    LB7: SAC-style Injector Life

The way I scaled the injectors makes the fueling seem exaggerated at low loads, but makes the truck very docile, which is crucial when driving on the snow/ice here in Idaho winters. It was 15.4 last time, so not that different. When the injectors were first installed it was 12.3, then snuck up...

    LB7 DIC MPG

My 2003 CCSB had the 26 gal tank, which is probably why his range is way off. It is totally possible the steppers are toast, but I have never had good luck using EFILive's calculator to get the correct pulses per mile based on tire size on my LB7. Have him reset a trip meter when he fills up...

    sac45 idle

Here is the tune for my S&S SAC45 injectors. Besides the idle haze/smell (which is greatly reduced with this tune), it runs well. Probably the same ballpark on power as my original NoLogic 3.0, but I turned this rig down since I was limping the (cheaply) built transmission (2nd gear would slip...

    sac45 idle

For what it is worth, hot idle (660 RPM), A/C on in park, 110°F ambient, 91kPa baro, I am at 44 MPa desired, 6.0° timing, and 12.7° pilot actual, which sounds as dumb to be as it does to everyone else. But it cleaned it up pretty good. Main timing: Pilot timing: I can share this whole tune...

    sac45 idle

For what it is worth, I have several sets of SAC injectors from different vendors with very different experiences. SAC75 from Lincoln Diesel (bought in 2016 so actually S&S injectors) in my race motor. These have been phenomenal, full thread here. I need to post another update, these are still...

help! locked up lb7 or is it transmission??

It is a bit of an involved process, but you should be able to tilt the back of the engine & transmission down, then slide the trans off the torque converter. Then you will know for sure which one is locked up without doing any destructive disassembly.

    truck towing pictures...

What do you not like about towing with 35s? Is it the effectively taller gearing making power delivery worse or hunt for gears more? Or does it feel less stable with the taller tires? Just curious because I've been towing with 35s for so long I've probably forgotten what a stock truck is like...

    truck towing pictures...

Does this count for the towing pictures thread? Not really towing, but there is still vehicle-on-vehicle action! I finally got myself a lift (Rotary SPO12 Wide), and obviously wanted to test it. That combo is about 11.5k lbs, and it handled it like a champ. Now all I need to do is wire in the...

    Lower control arm bushings

I have the energy suspension bushings on my '03 and am very happy with them. Given the weight of the diesel up front, I don't have the rough ride complaints I usually have when using poly bushings on a car. Sent from my FlashScan V2 using Tapatalk

    Fuel rail pressure to high

June '24 Chat -- June bugs or Cicadas?

60k (5 tons) does seem a bit small for the low ambient you see out there. You should be able to put your house details into an online calculator and see what you need based on the insulation you have. I always tend to over provision my HVAC, but it actually reduces the efficiency when it is...

June '24 Chat -- June bugs or Cicadas?

Mini splits are a game changer. Put them in my parent's house a couple years back, and liked them so much I just put 5 of them in my house. One in every bedroom, plus the bonus room and the garage. I still have the central HVAC but really only use it to heat now (natural gas is dirt cheap in...

June '24 Chat -- June bugs or Cicadas?

If it's a R410a heat pump, they run 500+ PSI in heating mode, so I like to pressure test them to 550-600 PSI to find leaks. It could easily be a cracked line. With the rate of leaking not being super different in heat mode vs cool mode, it's probably not the A coil. It sees low pressure in cool...
