    3:42 gears and 3rd gear in the Allison puts you in between 4:56-4:88 gears on 4th gear. The 3:42's also have a bigger pinion for more tooth contact. At the 2.6 power levels the rear ring and pinion's are a big failure point. I have heard a few 2.6 guys haveing good luck with the 3:42's lasting...

    Yes, it was off a Dodge. It has the .96 A/R exhaust housing.

    Order some blankets for my manifolds and turbine housing from Levi at Turbo Performance. I ordered them Tuesday morning and they were on my steps today when I got home from work!!! Wow, that's service!:thumb:

    Soo....if the manufacture/distributer of the failed part takes care of you, you will not disclose the failure to us? Oh, and I totally agree with LBZ also! I hope my new motor doesn't fail because it may have the same failed parts as yours!!!:eek:

    Put the tranny and t-case back in last night with the new poly mount. Hopefully get the motor back in this week!

    :werd:^^^! OP, I Hope you get to enjoy your new truck soon. The PO's shoddy work really surprised me. I thought that truck would have been top notch!!!
