GM Last to Class with 1/2 Ton Diesel??

I believe they are holding out the 1/2 ton Duramax for fear of killing their HD market. Your average 6.6L Duramax owner doesn't need an HD truck. Your average guy likes the 6.6L for the performance, or maybe for when he occasionally tows a trailer. Most guys could get away with a 1/2 ton but...

compare turbos for a 05 duramax non vvt

Agreed. Mark's 68 is one badass charger. The real benefit is that it will work well with stock fuel all the way up to heavy fueling. It has the capability to grow with your mods unlike a fixed vane. VGT allows for stock like spool out of a much larger than stock charger. My 68mm stage 2r spools...

Can a Fixed Single be Fun and Clean on the street?

Shame you don't like the VGT. Mark's 68mm stage 2r is a sweet sweet charger.

    Turbos is it worth it.

Mine never comes off the big tune either. I can't be trusted.

    Turbos is it worth it.

You have do a little cost/benefit analysis with yourself. On one hand, a bigger turbo in the proper setup will keep temperatures down and is arguably safer for an engine. On the other hand, with the tuning capabilities we have these days, a stock fuel truck with a drop in replacement turbo has...

Which Danville turbo do I have?

Haha! Mark builds the baddest VGTs on the market and has since the inception of high performance VGT turbos. Where have you been Mr. master turbo builder!? Anyone who has any knowledge of this industry knows who Mark is and the reputation he has built.

    Lb7 piston max hp?

If 600 is the number then that combination seems a waste of time to me. We all know of some stock engine guys running over 600 rwhp without failure but that's gambling. Seems there really is no budget setup that is worthwhile.

    Lb7 piston max hp?

Curious what everyone's opinions are regarding holding power of LBZ rods vs LB7 cut and coated pistons. I've heard 700 rwhp thrown around often. Of course that depends completely on what combination of parts is making that power. Is the general consensus that LBZ rods and LB7 cut and coated...

    Lb7 piston max hp?

I can say with a certainty that my Carillo rods and Finger's pistons were the best $5K I've ever spent on the truck. I know the internals never get the glory since they are just in there quietly doing their job but the peace of mind sure is nice.

Mine went slightly lower. Drop keys, no overload, custom drop shackles. I've got about 1200 miles on engine build now and it's been flawless. Love this ol girl. It's a riot.

LLY: Where To Draw The Line? - Actual Experiences Wanted

I was well below your power level and this was the result. Just sayin. Not to mention those LB7 rods will generally handle less power than my LBZ pistons before failure.

LLY: Where To Draw The Line? - Actual Experiences Wanted

I've seen many a stock engine, stock fuel, s366 truck bend rods. You're on borrowed time. That is definately not a stock engine safe setup.
