    Yep i would do both ^ bring it up into 5th gear on a max effort and hold it to the floor if its stock it will limp or you will feel it slip;)

    try unplugging both batteries leave them off for a minute or two and see if that makes a bit of difference. I had problems with my 02 with electrical but nothing like this seems like something got surged or something really not that big of help.:o
