    Just got a call from another diesel shop $6900.00 to do the heads. I've called 3 places and got 3 prices now. I probably could do it myself . I've done tons of work in the past on all kinds of engines even rebuilt 6.2 and 6.5 for old vans I had. .

    Thanks for the reply, it has been going on for about a month. I tried the cap. Then the thermostat. I'm pretty much figured it's the head gasket. It's going to sit and I'll be driving my 03 gas hd until I decide what to do with it.

    So at 216k the LLY is spitting coolant. The upper hose is rock hard. The truck runs fine otherwise. Anyone recommend a place in CT. that does these?

    Adding power assisted steering

    Received the steering cylinder kit today. And found a tapered stud for the center link. The tappered stud came from a Monroe steering stabilizer, my parts store took it out of the package and sold it to me for $9.00. It fits the center link and it has a 5/8 stud that fits the heim joint perfectly.

    So my 03 has gone thru 3 steering boxes ,mostly because they were junk cardone boxes. Now i sent a new reman from that was a warranted box from cardone to Blue Top to get rebuilt and ported not just resealed ,painted and sent out. I got the box back couple days ago.     I sent mine to blue top , Ryan sent it back the day after he got it. It should be back by Monday. Rebuild and ported for $322.00

    I sent my box off to blue top yesterday, going to get it ported for future steering assist. $250. For the rebuild $70. For the porting.
