    i was thinking about mounting the ecm in the cab and just using the bail connectors at the firewall to detach the engine harness from the truck harness. i thought it might make it easier to pull the motor if i needed to in a hurry. i think if i had a motor to test mine on i could have it done...

    thanks, it does not seem to be too bad, if a person is familiar with these trucks i think it can be a fairly simple diy job. i'd like to get a diy standalone engine harness thread going. there are quite a few guys going to ODL this year in my neck of the woods so i thought this might be helpful.

    it does not seem to be too complicated i have the 5 volume gm manual for my 01 so it has all the pin outs of all the connectors in the truck which makes it easier. only thing i really need to find out is what i need to keep from inside the cab. i know i'll need to keep the obd2 and the throttle...

    i started on modding my own last night by tracing out all the transmission, ac, intake air heater, and some of the other bs that i dont need out of my truck side harness. anyone else decide to try their own instead of getting raped by ppe?

    its probably a t3 foot on the a4k, so get a t3 pedestal and you can make everything else yourself. oil feed and drain stuff you can get out of jegs. you will be paying probably double the cost if you buy a kit from someone vs doing the research and diy. biggest pain will be the downpipe

    what is reversed about the headers? i thought just put the drivers side on the passenger side and visa-versa and you're good to go

    from what i understood the comp wheel and cover are the only difference. but as of right now the wheel will not bolt to an existing journal center
