head gasket cost
I would think the short amount of time pulling the core support and the engine would be way worth it in the end. Sitting on a chair in the garage working on it, is much easier than leaning over the fenders for hours. Just a thought:D Good luck!- LB7Diesel

Pistons?
Yes the Mahle forged. Wasn't sure why there not steel glands. Just wondering why they would not incorporate the steel in them? I'm sure it's not there for looks on the factory ones, but longevity.- LB7Diesel

$226:D So is it true that the Mahle ring glands are just aluminum? Wouldn't the drive psi, heat and compression of a hot rod diesel just eat away at the glands over time? Just wondering, b/c non turbo Aircraft engines will eat the hell out of aluminum ring glands over time, but, on the turbo...- LB7Diesel
