She's going strong now got the fluid back to a bright red color and the fluid temp stays where it should. now that the TQ works i noticed when towing in Tow Haul the converter locks really hard mid way through 2nd gear when gaining speed from a stop. sort of like dropping the clutch in a manual...

2001 LB7 is my Trans toast?

I did clean my cooler and cooler lines best i could i back flushed with new clean fluid and compressed air. I'm sure theres better ways to go about it, but it did the job. installed a new valve body and so far so good. shifts fine when warmed up now so we'll see once i hookup to my trailer again.

2001 LB7 is my Trans toast?

I’ll look into that. Can you not order new valves or is that the best option because the bad valves may have hurt the bores in the valve body?

I'm just gonna get to pulling the trans and having it built by a reputable shop. or maybe even order a reman unit but i want something that will handle a decent amount of power like a 200hp tune nothing crazy. heaviest thing i own is a 10,000lb max gvwr toy hauler...

2001 LB7 is my Trans toast?

That’s what I was afraid of is the Allison a very complicated trans? I’m pretty mechanically inclined and not afraid to tear stuff apart on my own but I’ve never rebuild a transmission would it be a good idea to tear into it and see if I can replace the clutches myself?
