With -8an pcv fittings does it need to increase to a 5/8” hose from the fitting or will a -8 an to 1/2” barbs be enough? Assuming there will not be any pressure, also contemplating removing the pcv valve/diaphragm.

When disconnecting the coolant line from the heater core to oil cooler. Will I lose any coolant from oil cooler port?

Thought Id finally come over to the more technical forum. Not new to duramaxs, I have a 2008 LMM, 68mm DDP turbo, built transmission, Fass 150, beans sump, all the "air piping", etc... Look forward to learning more on here.
