No...I the further I got, the more apparent it became that it was the mother of all onions. Basically Len rewired most of his van to be a truck. Every switch that communicates through the BCM has to be relanded or reconfigured. It'd be incredibly cool, but not sure how worthwhile given the ways...

Brakes are done. Also added the PPE Duramax oil pan. My list is getting shorter.

Moved over to work on brakes. The driver's side leaked all over the e-brake pads. The passenger side e-brake lever was frozen engaged. Replaced everything from the backing plates out. New calipers on the way to replace the rotted ones...

I'm a 2500. My cover has 12 bolts, so that's added to some of my confusion.

    It's a full-floater. So is that automatically a 10.5"?

Can anyone ID the axle generation? (60S, 70S, etc). It's a full-floating Dana. Not much else for identifying marks that I can find...

In the spirit of "cart before horse", my 2008 PY0 center caps arrived. I plan to strip the wheels and have them cleared again.

The hoses are "off the shelf" from Surplus Center. I can buy assembled hoses from them for less than the cost of AN fittings. I definitely understand that they are overkill, but I'm only in them for about $12 each.

Winter hit and I took a serious break. I finished my crossmember and carrier bearing mount and gave them to a local shop to powdercoat. I also had a 2 pc driveshaft shortened and balanced. After a lot of studying and a couple of failed attempts, I finally got my transmission cooler lines...

Up and down pipes are ceramic-coated and wrapped. Transmission crossmember and carrier bearing brackets are headed to powdercoat on Monday. I ordered my trans coolers on Friday, so I should be able to start working on brackets and lines next week.

Got my carrier bearing bracket fabbed. Also tapped my exhaust manifold for an EGT probe. Wow that was awful.

    Procedure for Van Glowplugs

Does anyone have access to the factory/dealer procedure for either performing a compression test or changing glow plugs in a van? I'd like to do a compression test as I keep losing coolant, but it looks like #5, 6, 8 could be impossible to remove with the body on.

Been working on ideas for the trans cooling. The factory van radiator is limited to 3/8" lines while the Allison gets 1/2" lines. The truck radiator is 7" taller, so that's out. My idea right now is to come off the Allison with JIC-10 (slightly less than 1/2" ID) and split into 2 JIC-6...

1 cut and it's in. I still need to move all of the hangers, but WOW. Sorry. I'm a sucker for pics and I'm excited...bad combo

A lot of non-picture progress. Front half of the driveshaft is at the shop getting cut down. Parts ordered for various issues, etc. Also, my exhaust showed up. Len posted a link to the eBay auction on his thread on another forum. 4" Magnaflow stainless downpipe back for $170, shipped.

Crossmember is pretty close to finished. I'll take the plate for the trans mount to work on Monday and have our machinist slot the holes. Once it's together, I'm planning to have it powdercoated when I have my up- and downpipes ceramic coated. Also picked up a drive shaft with a carrier...

I wanted to keep the same driveline angle...right now I'm tipped back about 3-4 degrees. If I had tilted it to clear the floor, it probably would have been closer to 10 degrees down.
