    LBZ: New problem for Turbo

Thanks 02greysixer, Although I don't have a live monitoring tool maybe I should invest in one. This is what I was looking for, a next step.

    LBZ: New problem for Turbo

I'm looking for the next step in resolving an error code P003A that just popped up with the check engine light. I have a 2006 2500HD with the LBZ and 135K miles. Still runs okay but from what I've picked up on line I may have a bad VPS or solenoid. Is there any suggestions with what direction...

Help: Crazy brakes pulling hard on 2006 2500hd

Jacked it up today and checked both wheels for worn bearings. The right bearing was shot, so a new one was installed. Problem fixed. I guess the bad bearing was causing the ABS sensor to give a bad reading, as all systems seem normal, although the new hub assembly came with a sensor, so its...

Help: Crazy brakes pulling hard on 2006 2500hd

I do get a small amount of ABS vibration just before the truck stops. That's what led me to think ABS.

Help: Crazy brakes pulling hard on 2006 2500hd

Thanks James, I'm thinking along these lines, as I see nothing wrong with the hardware itself.

Help: Crazy brakes pulling hard on 2006 2500hd

Looking for help on trouble shooting a brake pull. The truck stops fine from most any speed until slowed to about 7 m.p.h. The steering wheel then turns hard to the left, maybe a half turn. Other than this goofy deal, it stops and handles fine. I'm thinking ABS? Any suggestions?

Question: Replacing steering wheel and inst. Bulbs

Does anyone have info on replacing the light bulbs in a 2006 Sierra SLT that illuminate the controls on the steering wheel, and those that back-light the fuel gauge? I just want to replace with the normal bulb. I have several burnt out.

    Lbz water pump part number

I just installed an AC Delco pump, P/N 12637105 in my '06 LBZ. Paid $187.

Removing crank bolt with engine on stand

I made a tool that holds the ballancer. I used it while the engine was in the truck and it worked great. It has a short dowel that sticks in one of the holes drilled for ballancing, and the long arm rested against the frames cross arm. It could be extended the the same length as the wrench...

    06 lbz loosing coolant

If you used the color changing fluid for testing for a leak, don't believe the results. I tried it on an '06 LBZ 2 weeks ago, test showed negative for a leak, but I found a blown head gasket anyway. I hope your coolant loss is found, and simple. Good luck.

Help: Can't get it primed or started

There is no lift pump, but I've noticed a high pressure fuel leak. I must have a fitting loose on a rail, as when I crank for 5-10 seconds I then get some fuel running down the back of the engine. I will go tackle the leak issue and try again. ps: Glad I could amuse, now I know what a lift...

Help: Can't get it primed or started

The filter is tight and pressure builds up. When I released the bleed screw fuel sprays out.

Help: Can't get it primed or started

I just turned the key on my '06 LBZ and was greeted without a start. I manually pumped the primer, cranked, and repeated this about 10 times. The pump seemed to function normally, but after a few seconds of cranking the engine over, the primer went limp. Is there a better way to prime the...

LBZ: Hope to fire it up

I'm almost ready to turn the key on my '06 LBZ that I did head gaskets on. It's my first attempt at a diesel, so I have a little apprehension.

    Headgaskets, OEM VS Fel Pro

Two weeks ago I bought OEM head gaskets, p/n 12637785 and 12637788 for $27.81 each. Someone is REALLY marking them up.

LBZ: Help with head gasket or coolant problem

And, by the way, ONEBADDMAXX is right. I tried the chemical test for combustion chamber gas in the coolant. It showed NO gas, even though it looked like a coffee pot percolating. Stick the tube up the tailpipe (or where ever) and it swaps colors real fast.

LBZ: Help with head gasket or coolant problem

Well, I'm a week into my tear down and everyone who predicted "blown head gasket" go to the head of the class. The fire ring on #7 was toast in two places and it must have been pushing coolant out and into a head bolt passage as well. One bolt was really rusted. I'm using the ARP studs, and...

    Question: Stock radiator reliability

I'm getting ready to re-install my stock GM radiator in front of my stock 2006 LBZ. It's worked fine for 120K, but since summer is coming and I sometimes get stuck towing a 15,000 lb. 5th wheel in the Mojave Desert, should I worry about it coming apart on me? Is there many tank separations...
