    truck towing pictures...

Figured I'd join in. Bought this LBZ to haul our 5th wheel. Didn't like any of the toy haulers we looked at, so bought a normal 5th wheel camper with a rear hitch to drag the toy along behind. Best of both worlds

2006 Allison converter housing leak, stumped. Ideas?

Pump and converter replaced, no more leak. Not sure which one it was but happy this saga is finally over.

2006 Allison converter housing leak, stumped. Ideas?

That thread title doesn't accurately represent the content, and rather than have people read through a bunch of posts I thought it would be easier just to state in a couple sentences that everything exposed to the inside of the converter housing has been replaced (some multiple times) except the...

2006 Allison converter housing leak, stumped. Ideas?

Yes, the same one. Converters leaking without slinging fluid everywhere?

2006 Allison converter housing leak, stumped. Ideas?

Here's what I'm seeing this morning after our weekend trip. Here's what the inside typically has looked like previously. I haven't had a chance to get under yet today and see if it looks the same. The fluid is collecting around the bolt heads....it looks like at first glance that it's coming...

2006 Allison converter housing leak, stumped. Ideas?

Been chasing a leak from the converter housing area in the 2006 LBZ truck I bought in Sept 2020. Trans has been out 4 times, and still leaking. Leak presents externally by dripping out the small round inspection cover hole on the bottom of the converter housing. When I stick my borescope up...

    LBZ low boost? 18psi.

Nah, you for sure helped...I wouldn't have known the two were different without your post!

    LBZ low boost? 18psi.

I found another crappy scan app that looks like it uses the GM MAP PID...it shows that the barometer and MAP values match with engine off. That one shows that I'm hitting 22-23psi peak boost, which is right about where I've read I should be. I hope I can return the new MAP sensor I bought...

    LBZ low boost? 18psi.

OHHHHH I just saw the GM MAP vs the SAE MAP you're talking about...so your SAE MAP reads low too. I see. So you guys are right, if I want to see something meaningful I need to be reading the GM PID, not the SAE PID that my crap scan tool is reporting. Derp. The 12kpa difference between the two...

    LBZ low boost? 18psi.

I'll have to find a way to validate but since it reads correctly on my wife's car I'm thinking it's something else. The 4.5 volts on the MAP sensor circuit bothers me...not sure what the tolerance is though. Thanks for checking the LMM, that helps a lot to know they *should* be matching with...

    LBZ low boost? 18psi.

I don't have anything else anymore. Used to have EFILive but let it go with my LML when I sold it back in 2015. For S&G I just plugged my bluetooth dongle into my wife's car...it's a different make, and the Torque Pro app reads Baro and MAP both at 13.8 psi with engine off. They are SAE pids...

    LBZ low boost? 18psi.

I'm browsing through a stock LBZ tune file right now, and it looks like I'm right on the edge of setting off the P0106 MAP sensor code. Trigger would be 2psi difference between MAP and Barometer for 10 seconds...I'm at 1.9 psi difference most of the time. Looking at C0808 and C0809 values.

    LBZ low boost? 18psi.

I only have 4.5 volts on the MAP sensor circuit. I checked from +5v to MAP ground, and from +5v to chassis ground, both engine on and engine off. It's consistent across all of those scenarios. Is that low enough to cause a problem? What would cause low voltage on that circuit?

Can one of you guys check to see if your MAP sensor value matches your barometer value with the engine off? Just want to validate that this is or is not a normal thing.

    LBZ low boost? 18psi.

Well the new MAP sensor didn't change anything. Blah. Without a good scan tool I think I'm shooting in the dark here. The app on my phone just doesn't have what's needed to get good diagnostic type data...no turbo vane %, no fueling numbers...it shows torque, but the refresh rate is so bad that...
