The oil cooler ,oil temp gauge, and a good side stream bypass will make your truck into what it should have been from the factory.

    oil temp with twins

There are ways to help the coolant temps go down. Easy enough. However, it's the oil temps you should be concerned about. The oil doesn't cool down and actually increases in temp the harder you push it (like as in if you cool the coolant down you think it's ok to run it harder now). It's not ok...

Dang it Tim. So sorry to hear my friend. Let us know what you find. Look very carefully at the mains and there supports to see if you can see any black residue around them.

Good move on the Schaeffer oil with those temps. EEK! A 58*F increase in oil temp and a 52% loss of oil pressure. HOLY BUCKETS! Everyone paying attention?

    No power

That's for the LLY and newer. There is threads here on the LB7 FPRV shim mod. Maybe just what the Dr. ordered. The needle valve in it may be cracked as well unfortunately. Just have to get it out to have a look see. You may need to look to see if there is clear fuel passage lines from the tank...

    Oil cooling

I wasn't sure about this Brian till I went down the mountain during a test and was running from 3.5-4K RPM holding the load back. My oil temp went to 144*F in one test. The rest of them it wasn't quite as cool, but would constantly be around 165*F or less to my surprise. I also know my EGTs are...

That's good info Tim. Thanks. Another unloaded one folks. This is holding speed and not charging, right Tim? What oil are you running as well? Like I've been stating. When hauling, there will be plenty to get an eye full of if you have an oil temp gauge. This is not a case of "out of site, out...

Yes, and the motor is working harder and friction is higher. The oil is cooling the pistons themselves as well as the cylinder walls and everything in the heads including the valve stems. There is a lot of heat being generated during the combustion cycle that the oil is removing. Your turbo is...

    Oil cooling

Just did a tuner test today on a short 3 mile hill (about a 4% grade on the fwy) to see how exactly the effects are on oil temps with a little higher power and a 13K GVW load. I've noticed that the oil temps constantly run higher cruising the hwy than in any stop and so or slow speed traffic...
