    I bought a #9107a electric brake force meter. That test the truck side. If truck is ok then it's in the trailer. Is it EOH brakes or magnet style brakes on trailer?

    Check the wiring, did you have to move any when changing t stats or did you lean on any or drop any tools there? Are these the ones closest to front of engine, and did you mess with any grounds?

    That's correct. The $29 obd scanner will not read the transmission codes. The p0700 is just the TCM (transmission control module) telling the ECM to set that code and turn on the light. When it went into limp mode do you know what gears you had available?

    Would a gen-y hitch work for you? I use one, and it allows me to open the tailgate with trailers attached.

    If it has a separate wire it probably has a separate fuse, but I'm sure you checked that.

    Just as a precaution, you might try to find the circuit grounds and see if any repeatable events point to a specific ground. With out good circuit grounds it's possible fo voltage to have no easy way to ground so it jumps ship to another circuit and grounds through them. This could be taking...

    The fuel pump control module is a known problem, mine went out at about 35,000 miles.

    What year truck? It could be the under hood fuse block. They have been known to house rodents or get bad corrosion..
