    Mike L has passed away.......

I had a few talks with Mike when he started discussing retiring. I noted to him that many of my friends would retire, then veg out on the sofa, and pass away shortly thereafter. I'm glad he didn't. But I wish I could have drug him down to Speed Week at Bonneville. He would have got a kick...

    Mike L has passed away.......

Mike Lovrich is one of the pioneers who helped expand diesel hotrodding for the digitally controlled common rail engines. He was truly a pioneer in building the Allisons to hold big power. Somebody should notify the diesel magazines. He is more than worthy of a mention, many of trucks in...

    Mike L has passed away.......

Mike L was one of the best friends a person could have. I really don't know how to process this yet. I will miss him. The world will miss him.

Hail James "Chevy1925" our new Fearless Leader!

When? My first EV hotrod was a Jaguar I-Pace, it handles great but weighs 4800lb and has a 128 mph speed limiter. Sadly an unrepairable electrical problem has lemoned it out. I'm waiting on my second EV, which is a Tesla Model 3 Performance with P+ pack. This is a 1000lb lighter, and...

Hail James "Chevy1925" our new Fearless Leader!

We have carried the Duramax torch far longer than perhaps we should have. The community deserved a more active member to Administer the site, and after careful consideration, have handed that torch, and the keys to our 'corner bar' off to James. :beer Help him grow the site by spreading the...

DuramaxDiesels.com Forum is up for sale.

It includes the domain(s) associated with it, but does NOT include the dedicated server. It will have to be moved to a new ISP. The buyer will have to be an active enthusiast, and the amount must be enough to show Rob appropriate consideration for his 14 years of work administering the site...

    2020 is here!

Well, a little late ... Happy New Year everyone.:happy2: For 2020, there is going to be a change for the forum, hopefully for the better. We are looking for an active diesel enthusiast to purchase the forum. I'm no longer active in the diesel community, but we still drive our 2006 LBZ...

Hmm No Spark Plugs or Glow Plugs?

I can't even seem to locate the Dealer Programming tool yet. Perhaps a set of track tires and rims. Can't dance in Golf Shoes. The i-Pace is an interesting concept. It has Land Rover suspension technology: Anti-Rollover, fords 20" of water, climbs 45° dirt roads, has ultra low speed cruise...

Hmm No Spark Plugs or Glow Plugs?

I was actually looking for an 2016 Performance variant of the ELR as one of my options. They are rare birds. The ELR remains one of the most stylish cars ever conceived by any company in history. I love the way they look. If people understood their own driving habits better, and...

Hmm No Spark Plugs or Glow Plugs?

Thanks. It's a riot to drive even though it lacks a manual trans. Time marches on, even Ferrari abandoned stick shifts. We still have a manual trans Vette and will be teaching the kids how to drive a manual with it this month. Note: I did not turn into a tree hugger. If Baby Seal seats...

Hmm No Spark Plugs or Glow Plugs?

Soon. Not a rocketship, but no dawg either. Mag tests have them at high 12's and 4.5s to 60 mph. Feels tight and well balanced, but it's 4800lb so not exactly a Corvette. Sort of feels like a CTS-V in the corners.

    I'm now a bit of a traitor.

This is where it gets weird. It's made in Austria by Magna Steyr. KTM is made in Austria and they are very high quality. The other Jags are still made in England.

It is an odd shape. 1/2 car, 1/2 CUV. In Europe, they call station wagons "skates" IIRC.

Adding power might be rough, but I bought it as Daddy's Toy. I will run it at the drags, autocross, and will enter next year's REFUEL race: http://www.refuelraces.com/

The company or individual who gets into hotrodding production electric cars is going to get rich. The owners on the average are more affluent, and the EPA/CARB cannot crap on you.
