    Hoping to take the wife to Northern Minnesota next week. Would be fun to camp, but it’s still close to freezing at night, so will probably take the camper. I need to throw new brakes in it before we leave though. . . .

    I see a lot more problems on these trucks when guys use them like you. These trucks aren’t grocery getters, they are made for work. I see lots of guys running them hard and towing heavy every day and some are over 200k towing every day and their trucks have been problem free.

    Was getting up to speed and pulling in 2nd with slightly heavy throttle, and it let go like it was thrown into neutral. Still had 1 and 3. Next day, all was fine. Following day had 2 and 4. Now it only has 1, and won’t even attempt to shift. 1 and R are holding tight. Just seems different than...

    How much weight are you pulling? What’s your driving style? I beat the tar out of my truck and hold it wide open with 20,000+ pound loads behind me up mountain passes. Mine has never missed a beat and the transmission has been flawless.

    Anybody in the Midwest (Minnesota preferably) have a good 4L60E laying around? Just blew the tranny in the ‘01 Tahoe. It went in an odd way, but it has 335k on it, so it did well.

    I wish she would’ve pulled in still hooked to the trailer. It would be interesting to see if the trailer brakes were functioning.

    3500 SRW with the Duramax have the 12”. And now the 2500 with max tow have it as well.

    When I’m not towing I drive my ‘01 Tahoe. A lot of times we think that our old things were better, but I can testify that the seats in that Tahoe are still fantastic after 335,000 miles and feel the same as my ‘02 and ‘04 when I bought them new.     It literally is just a matter of what the sticker says on the door jam. For some uses and in some states the tax can be higher for higher GVWR, so the 2500 with the Max tow package gives you the ability to tow the same as the 3500, just with the 2500 badge on the side and a lower number listed...

    What will help my fog lights

    Fog lights, as mentioned, are not supposed to be bright. When you are driving in heavy fog, turn headlights off and turn fog lights on and you can see the road much better. Don’t be one of those dill-holes that puts stupid bright bulbs in their fog housing and then blinds every car that approaches.

    I think it’s interesting that when the LTG came out in 2013 it was 272 hp, now in the CT4 it’s 237/258. Yeah it’s now an LSY, but it replaces the LTG. Just never understood why they dialed back the power so much.
