i wish my truck could run on empty all the time lol. steve, i think you should jsut put some autometers in there instead
My speedo has been out for nearly three years. all the other gauges are working properly so I haven't bothered to get it fixed. It's kind of liberating not having to be constantly watching the speedo. I just gauge my speed by feel and other traffic. lol
Mine too. Scared the hell out of me when my oil pressure gauge dropped to 0 though. Damn good thing I had the CTS in there since I was about a half second from shutting the truck down @ 75mph on the freeway and coasting to the side. :rofl: Look at the CTS, see 45 psi oil pressure and thought "f***in stepper motors" lol
How many people here have lost a step motor in their gauges? my 02 is still all factory from august of 01 with 165k
My oil pressure guage likes to read crazy for a few seconds everyt few minutes. and my Speedo has a mind of it's own too.
Yeah i know but that doesnt mean it doesnt happen. ive seen 01-02s loose step motors. not quite as many as the 03-up but it happens.

I'm at 260k and mine still work. Go figure...
Before I replaced my batteries this last time, I started my truck and the dash didn't come back on. I got about 15 feet from the parking spot, looked down and saw 0 oil pressure. I shut it down in the middle of the road :spit:. I then decided I needed to limp it off of the road, and after restarting, I noticed ALL my gauges showed 0. I felt kind of dumb for that one...

oil psi on mine, got a new cluster and now it just takes a little while to power up. gotta laugh that you can see where you were tapping the gauges with your finger :roflmao:
It's just annoying when a brand new motor lasts a month. WTF is there any other motor than the $20 ones that I can put in there?? Something that will last?
