same guy new problem and sure to find more down the road, well i noticed today that the passenger side pitman arm rubbed through one of the transmission lines going to the radiator. I am literally at the boiling point and bout to f-in pop. i have to vent.......so how hard is it to change these lines? im kinda scared to take it back to him!like before if i can get by with doing it myself at low cost for parts i would rather do that!

How big is the hole, is it the rubber part or metal part of the line? You could cut out the part that has a hole and put a 5/8 union in there (metal part of line). Cost less than $5 to fix.

its right where the metal and rubber meet at the crimp. i could probally just pull the line and have a new rubber hose crimped on the metal part as long as it didnt damage the lip. Have yall had the same problem?

holy crap!!! i just remembered the same crap is happening to mine....i saw it about 2 years ago and never really gave it much thought....until now..........im gonna go check(later)

my lines have been leaking for ever(not from that rubbing part but from the same ol' connection that everybody with a 6 speed has) ......i just let them leak...its minimal plus it rustproofs the chassi.

that union, is it a compression fitting???

yeah thats a "hose fix"

it can be bandaided with a hose slid over on top with the bad section cut out. but i wouldnt run it like that for a long time cause it wont last forever, i found out about that the hard way.

you can then use the bad section and go to the parts store and find you the correct compression fittings to make a coupling

Mine was hitting, I had to rework my lines around so they didnt rub.

The union is two compression fittings works fine with no leaks.

So is this something that just happens? I thought he f-ed it up!

I doubt he even had to touche the trans lines to do the idle arm , as others have said it can rub if you dont inspect it and tweek the lines. I noticed it when i did my cognitos years back and tweeked them for clearence .
