i know i wouldnt spend money to paint something that will be grinding against rocks, trees, chains, tools, monkeys... But i do get your point there are some very nice looking rigs out there and i love those too

well i have two trucks like this type and i know the hard work that goes into fabricating and to see it just turn to crap like that just shows plain lazyness to be honest

Meh......

I just recently bought an 86 K30, and it has all the HD stuff that truck has, 4.56 gears, and it's a DIESEL!!!!

I gave $2,300, it's only got 51k miles on it and the body is in perfect condition, a grand total of ZERO rust.

So, either I got a smokin' deal or that guy is trying to seriously rip someone off.

The only thing wrong with that truck is the POS transfer case. Of course, I have seen them take some pretty serious abuse too, so... Also, trying to wheel a manual transmission sucks balls.

But I do think his price is a little high. I'd say 4-5k is a fair price.

Not always,
If you have a good functioning e-brake and or some fancy foot work you can get it done very well. Not as easy as a auto but sometimes being able to hold a gear and shift when you want can be an advantage. I've 4-wheeled with a stick and stalling can be an issue in a rough spot.

This truck here in conversation says it's non-functioning E-brake. That can explain a bit of the body damage. :D

Thats where a full manual slushbox comes in real handy. :D

All in all, looks like a sound rig to me, yeah its ugly and rusty...but why would you waste your time making beat up body panels look good just to dent them up some more the next time out? Same with the fab work, Yeah, he let it rust...but the only thing that would have stuck is line-x or something simmiler and that crap is expensive!

At least primer paint helps the iron on most of it. Just keep spraying what's laying around in the garage and more primer. In the hills nobody cares about bling on real trails.

its all about gearing, the TBI may not be a power house but that 465 granny low matched with the low ratio in the 208 tcase of and what was it 5:13 gears. ;) Rock crawling BEAST :thumb: just ditch those damn wheels and id buy it for a starter rig
