Hi There,
Would anyone know what this is, and where I should re-attach it too lol, my whole truck seems to be working fine, except for my left trailer light signal, but I don't think that's what this is. Hopefully somebody knows what this is for? It is located on the left side of the brake pedal, seems like someone soldered the wire, but one end is undone?! Any help would be great!

That white wire is the "brake lights output"...so when the brake pedal is pressed, that white wire goes hot; it is connected right to the brake lights.

hmm strange, maybe it goes to my brake controller, the wire that bothers me, is the yellow blue stripped wire under the wire thats tied to the white brake wire, but the blue/yellow stripped wire is tied to the thin blue wire that is cut.... it's pretty strange everything seems to function correctly, Maybe i'll just tape it up and call it a day.

Those look aftermarket to me, can you trace the wires and see where they go? I'm wondering if there was an alarm system or something installed that was later removed.

I'll have to take a look, it is for sure after market of some sort, the thin blue wire runs up into the dash somewhere, past the steering wheel it seems, the yellow one i loose sight of, it's pretty messy in there, I would probably need to take my dash apart and have a look. I probably will, I need to fix my speedometer and tow haul switch. There is a Reese Trailer brake installed, and it works, I would guess if the bottom of one of the wires is cut that it wouldn't work lol

Some hack added the wire for a brake controller or possibly remote start. There is already a provision for this and even an available harness that connects into the junction box with the black cover that would be right above your left foot when driving.

I would cut the bare wire out and follow the blue wire that will likely go to your brake controller to look for any more bare spots.

I'm pretty sure I can see the brake controller going into the black box you speak of, so I Have no clue what this hack as we both like to call it, I will probably be ripping my dash apart on the weekend, I'll see if I can get more pics.
