This is a gasser related question. Just bought a rolling chassis and while im waiting for my motor to get done i want to clean up the wiring. The car looks like it has a painless wiring kit in it already that needs cleaned up.

My question is, how can i get power to the fuseblock to test my headlights and tail lights without the motor or anything like that? I havent gotten a good look at the fuseblock, are there spots for direct power and ground? Thanks for any help.

How old of a car is it? Power for the interior is probably picked up off the starter.

Its a '79 but has a painless wiring kit in it. Not the factory fuseblock.

i just need a temporary way to power the fuseblock so i have something to work on while i wait on the motor

Get a 12v battery and make up a set of clip leads to jumper to the fuse block. Should be a 12 V input connection on the block and hook the - to chassis ground somewhere. Make sure you have a 10AMP fuse in the + lead, in case there's a short somewhere, you don't want to fry your wiring. A test probe light is also handy

Thanks brotha. That helps a lot. I hope there's no shorts and everything works accordingly.
