OK if i tune out first gear and turn off the torque management. with the hopes of getting better times at the track. do you think that I'm looking for disaster with this, or will my SCIV be able to hold without any major damage?

the tcm tune is what holds the power of the defuel. once it commands none that there is none.
thats what i ran with my stock trans last time at the track and it killed my TC.
What engine/trans combo are you referring to?
lly/ally. the tcm commands the torque management. the ecm implements it.
none here, it shifts like normal and you really cant tell. until you are in it hard.I was pretty sure that's how that worked
The LLY TCM torque limiting tables were released after I sold my LLY, so I haven't tweaked those on one of my trucks...IIRC, a member or 2 have had trouble completely removing LLY TCM torque limiting, so do so at your own risk...
Removing it completely in my 6 speed seems to be working fine although I still have de-fueling in my ECM tune...
i haven't seen any issues yet, but i don't drive it that hard especially during shifts. but even under moderate acceleration it shifts quick and firm but never makes you feel as if it will be damaging. i can't wait for the public release of the tables so i can make some changes.Question Is if it does damage are you in a financial situation to replace it?

I dont see the 2nd gear launch being as bad as removing all defuel.....Your decision
