I have a 1057 converter with a 6" lift 35's and stock gearing I am getting a GT4094R turbo. This just occurred to me. Will I have lag problems with this setup?

what paint said the 94 shouldnt show you any problem at all and even if its a little slow to spool tuning should fix it... gt42 you might have problems

tho other will tell you differently;) i would get a .95 ar hoursing vs the 1.06 the comes standard option on them..

cruising at
55mph is ~1400rpms
65mph is ~1600rpms... boost guage is 0-2psi on flat ground

IMO the stock trubo is pretty laggy in those areas... i am sure the bigger turbo would amplifiy that..

when i towed my 75 form cali to OH anything under 70mph the truck had a hard time and lugged pretty bad when you hit any med size grade/hill.

personaly i re-adjust shift point in T/H via efi live to were 4-5 is ~65mph ~2300rpm helped fix that problem..

i know drew/paul dieselon ran a 4088 wiht 6" and 35" ran an .85 or .95? to keep egt in check while towing

I helped develop this converter on Casper in '05. Pat can tell you what turbo he was running but I think you are going to be fine. you may even like the converter better.

I had a HTT with a 1057 on a 7" lift with 35s......I think i can give a fair opinion:p It spooled very well for me and im pretty high in elevation.

What are you basing your info from, Adam:D

We ran the 1057 until we went to the GT42 May of 2007 and you put a ML Precision. Then later I believe you put in a 1055 ? same # that is currently in Casper.

The converter is only an issue in first gear launching as far as spooling goes. I towed a steel car trailer with car up some steep mountains with a GT40 with the 1.06 hsg with zero problems. If anything, the 1.06 GT40 spools harder than the stock turbo.

Please...

I've spooled a GT42 with a 1057, it's just a matter of tuning. The converter is only an issue in first gear launching as far as spooling goes. The HTT I purchased from you Pat would spool very very fast:) It was alot to do with tuning,But it was faster than the stock VVT

i tend to agree... with one excception...

casper had "shorter legs" by ~10% then my truck, kevinL and simons when you are runnign the GT. iirc you were still runnign 3.73 vs 3.54 adn a ~30" tire vs 3.73 and 35" or taller

racing and DD... probly will not notice it..towing he will.
