Figured I would start a new thread instead of tagging onto my other separate issue.

McRat, I noticed you mentioned running dual Wicked CP3s. What is better about them as opposed to other dual setups? Given my tests to locate my other problem and my logging for WOT, my current setup has no problem hitting 26,000 psi. Just wondering for future reference.

The Wicked Diesel pump is currently the only pump that's actually "bigger" than a stock pump. It has more displacement per revolution. The others are just porting the pump, which the Wicked Diesel is too.

So for a stock bottom end is the WD pump worth anything or would a Industrial pump be enough. What if you have 40% over injectors and a stock botom end.

more pump is always better, a WD will not flow as much as dual cp3s but you will be on borrowed time with any modded cp3 and big tuning

Im running 50% injectors and an all-stock parts motor, dual feed line, and a modded CP3
BUT...Not pushing a big tune. I'd love to but i'm pretty sure it would spell disaster if i did so if you hold your tune down you can still do it! Some guys do simular and run a big tune and get away with it, im not that lucky though:eek: But I can back the pulsewidth off and not chase the piston down the hole with fuel, should lower egts and cylinder psi IIRC
:D

I would talk to some who have run the WD stage 3 pumps first, I chose the II 150% over pumps instead. Just my advice.

I wouldn't run an II product but that's just me... my WD CP3 for 2 years has held 26,100 psi in 5th gear on a 3300 uS tune. Just recently it has showed signs of getting a little weak now holds 25.5k. Shane explained that Bosch modified the cascade valve in the LMM pumps, the LBZ pump which is what I have wears down well the spring does and the pump gets weak apparently this is fixed or i should say it increases longevity over the LBZ pump. II can claim their pump is 1400% bigger than stock but if it won't hold rail pressure for shit whats the point? I would contact Shane he is very friendly and is full of knowledge he is a no bullshit kind of guy.

lol, you dont know how bad it hurt to order it from Henry. I hate that company with a passion but I have just not seen great results from the Stage 3 WD pump. Craig runs one, you run one. I talked to Shane a few different times about a stage 3.5 or stage 4 or whatever he was working on. but they kept failing, so I bought the pump that was setting bar higher- II 150% over.

LOL Shane has told me we will not make anything bigger than his Stage 3 anymore most of the reason is cost... My WD Pump held 26k and that is basically what dual pumps do. Obviously with 100% over injectors im guessing it wouldn't do all that well. The recovery time (time in between shifting) is not that great either. Im sure if I had dual pumps since the beginning i would have been crying the "I broke my engine" song :D
