Why so fat?

I'm thinking about hitting the track one more time this fall, and maybe dropping some weight. I see guys with trucks like mine (CCSB LMM) weighing in at 6700-6800 pounds. I took my truck over a scale and I'm at 72xx lbs with myself (210lbs) a 1/4 tank of fuel .

Aside from a 100% stock truck the only things I have that would add more than a few pounds of weight are 20's, a g/n hitch, and nfab steps. And the truck doesn't have a spare tire even!!

What is everyone doing to make their fat LMM's so light?

Here's my two best slips from earlier this summer. Hoping if I can get the weight down to maybe get into the mid 13's on the stock tranny before it gets built.

Any help from you LMM guys would be welcomed :)

those wheels are killing you... pull the hitch, spare, tailgate, back seat, front seat and then your truck will be light.

Not really sure what the big difference in weight is. I'm right around 7400 in "race trim."

It was 7500 on the money a couple weeks ago with me and the dog and some random stuff in the cab.

Don't feel bad, I am at 8000-8300 lbs with me in the truck.

But like others said, pull the seats and get lighter wheels/tires and that should help a lot.

... but, it is rather annoying to have to do all that, which is why I just race "fat". Which is why my best timeslip is a 15.xx
