I get a lot of comments from a couple of things:
1) Why do you give your hotrods names?
Eventually, it's very possible you'll own another hotrod, often times the same make. When you look back on your webposts ten years later, it's always good to know WHICH car/truck/bike you were talking about. It's not for the audience, it's for the old fart who needs to remember.
2) Why do you brag about your cars/trucks?
Seems on some boards, it's way more common to brag about other people's cars/trucks, and they roll their eyes at those who post about their own racing. It's "self-promotion", "bragging", "conceit", according to them. In my case, it's to keep track of what I'm doing as time goes on, and more importantly, listing data for someone else's car/truck is very iffy. Unless you built it, and drove it, you do not actually know what's up with 100% certainy. So posting about it should be reserved for those who know absolutely what is up. Many times people post about trucks and get the facts way, way off. Nitrous, weight, smoking out lights, fuel ran, modifications, often get guessed at and sometimes deliberately "adjusted" to make a point or promote a performance shop.
Let's face it, we aren't curing cancer, or ending world hunger. This is a hobby for most of us, and these websites are kind of like scrapbooks documenting our personal hotrodding history. So if you are going to clip articles to put in your scrapbook, you should document them accurately for future reading.
