Went to visit my cousin and he has a 07 classic with shim mod and a lift pump running Ppe hot+2. Any ideas on how to prevent it. Anytime we stall it out it happens at about 45 mph and just flat out it happens at about 70. Very annoying.

No guage but it did it with 1792 and now It has a holley blue which is what he is running on his 02. So I guess the pressure should be close to what these pumps have from factory

How old is the fuel filter?
You need to get EFI on the truck and log rail current, rail pressure, pulse width, pretty much the basic other stuff and see what's happening. Could be a problem with the Fuel regulator, cp3, rail pressure sensor, or the FPRV could be leaking so maybe do a bottle test as well.

IT could also be the settings for the P0087 as far as the parameters for what triggers it.

Does that mean it happens while cruising?

Hows his idle? I know for awhile I was getting a 0087 at around 100mph. That was when my rail pressure was 21k at the lowest so It wasn't bad, just was hoping for better ya know. There are a few people on here with lbzs that get that code and cant for the life of them get it to shut off, and mostly pop up while getting into the 90s or 100 mphs.

Do like Dale said and bottle test it. It wont necasserly show a visible fuel leak to be leaking past the FPRV. Simple and easy test worth the time

this is one of those luck situations. i run that programmer too and have never set any codes even with the hot tunes on WOT runs. i dont have a lift pump or shim.

my guess would be the filters.

Filters are a good place to start. Also make sure all the lift pump connections are tight-it could do the same thing if it was sucking air.
