ANyone know the previous owner of this truck? Have a few questions. A guy here in town bought it. Go to the bottom and it shows the listing.

I have seen the truck over on the DP. I think they actually listed it in the for salle section to? I dont know the username though but I would try a search in the for sale part of the site using keyword MPI or twins maybe. worth a shot

Be glad you didn't buy it. I'm not sure what he gave for it. I think it was around the $27,000 mark. This kid doesn't know much about these things so I'm sure they did a good job selling it to him. I'm going to take a look at it within a week or so but from how my friend describes what it does, it's not good. He told me it won't start with one battery in the cold without being plugged in which isn't a huge deal but mine does just fine with one at 0 degrees not plugged in. The big deal is it won't quit smoking at idle in the cold which I'm sure is from loss of compression(bent rods). Second I was told if you get on it on the big tune it blows coolant out the over flow. His friend thought it was from it not being strapped down lol. I told him no, it's because the heads arent staying sealed. I will find out more but I'm thinking he bought something someone knew had issues.

sounds like it's already had head gaskets at least once by the mention of the cometic (sp?) head gaskets and studs.


Yeah, I'd say its' def. had its nuts run off and retired at the brink of disaster or past.

Searched on the dp and the turbo kit has only been on for about a year, 11 months to be exact. Looks the the memeber on there sold it to his friend sometime last year and then the guy here in town bought it. I'm sure it had it's nuts stomped into the ground and then was sold.

cometic head gaskets dont work/suck on a duramax. Several people have tried it with poor results. Thats why it pushes coolant even though its got head studs.

It was for the lap top. Guess while they was beating on it they wanted to make sure the lap top battery wouldn't go dead.

Update....Guy that owns the truck says it's built with the best of the best and makes 900hp lmao!!! Told my friend that those head gaskets are the best of the best! Basically I don't know what I'm talking about. Good thing I didn't go see it and try and help the guy out! Since his truck is the baddest dmax in town here and I dont know what I'm talking I told my friend to tell him lets race! Well shall see what happens from here.

Same for a Subaru. I ran them and got away with it... but went back to stock Metal gaskets this time around. I've been hearing this about Cometics with more and more vehicles

Somebody for sure doesn't know what they're talking about........ but it isn't you Steve.
Next he'll be telling everybody that it'll run 7.50's or better in the eighth and that your truck is going to blow up. He'll then become an internet EFI Live expert and base all of his tunes off of somebody else's timing tables that runs 40 degrees max. He'll waste countless hours messing with TCVane position and claim 1:2 drive pressure ratio and with Defueling to make his junk trans shift quicker. In the end he will run low 8's and look like a dipshit. All you can really do is sit back and wait............ and then blow out ALL of the candles on his Birthday cake. :thumb:

I can't remember his name but he is a friend of a friend and is maybe 22 years old. I was going to go over and try and help the guy out since there is issues but being he is now an expert on these and it's the baddest thing around I'll pass lol! He's owned 1 other dmax that was stock with an edge and prior to this truck he owned a 06 dodge with either bully dog or banks on it lol! My friend even called him out on the hp number as he read him the ebay add and his response to him was " that was before, it makes 900 hp now" lol!! I guess the air here in Iowa is that much better than in South Carolina lmao!! Either way he's a ball bag so I just challenged him to a race and waiting for a response. Would love to beat someone that has that much more power than me lol! I will bring a gallon of coolant for him to refill his truck after we race
