I would venture to say the #1 Duramax generation model I hear complaints about daily is the 04-05 LLY. (The 2006 LLY DOES NOT have this issue)

Repeatedly LLY owners tell me how they have made all these expensive aftermarket modifications to their truck (chips, air intakes, exhaust) … with little results

Funny stuff. With the factory elbow, the first truck into the 11's on fuel was a 2005 LLY. Blue (04.5 LLY)dropped it's ET from 17's when new, to 13.1, still on the factory elbow.



I'm sure porting the inlet does help a little, but let's not make it out like it's Cold Fusion or Perpetual Motion.
