Well im thinking about getting a pup. I like bulldogs because A) they are badass
B) they arent spazoids C) they are small. However i am wondering about the "maintenance cost" of owning an English Bulldog and if they have alot of health problems. I want a dog, not a money pit of an animal. So what do yall have to say?

I just put my BD down last month. Ten years old male 64lbs. I bought him for $1500 when he was 4 months old. I didn't have any problems from 0-4 years after that I bet I spent almost twice what I paid for him in vet bills. Mine needed a bath once a week, and face clean everyday. Have to watch how much they play outside in the heat. Over heat easily. Bad gas and snored loudly. Other that, good dog. He slept 20 hours a day.

i like that last part.

bulldogs are cool because when you want to play, they will play, when you want to relax, they will **** off and sleep somewhere lol

Do boxers have a lot of health problems like the bulldogs? Or are they closer to what a lab would be.

they can have some heart and joint problems and generally live between 7-9 years. I have/had 3.5 boxers and 1 died of health complications at 7, one lived to be 13 and the other 1.5 boxers have been perfect so far. so they can have issues but they are a low maintenance breed. leave the ears natural though, it shows more of their personality.

My buddy paid $2,000.00 for his and $6,000 later had to put her down. My inlaws have one that has cost a couple thousand and a mini bulldog that has no problems. On top of that they stink and the health problems seem to be crazy yet luck of the draw.
