who converter is this?

hey guys. im trying to figure out what converter is in this truck i bought. seems pretty loose compared to the ml-g that was in my previous truck and definitely does not drive and couple as nice. it looks to be a maroon color and i couldnt find anything searching. thanks for the help.

Looks like an ITW converter. I had run them before. Great converter but very harsh lockup. Idaho Transmission Warehouse.

ITW is right down the street from custom. ITW was my guess. I never pulled the inspection cover to look at it either.

are these converters up to the task of 850 hp or so to the tire? ive got a built motor im getting ready to put in and a s484 over 4094vvt and 60 overs and dual pumps.

There are better converters out there today. You will most likely need a converter with more stall speed that couples well. Give the converter a try if it is fresh and thats what ya got. Mine was a tight converter with a bang lockup.

Also you should have a billet stator at the power level you are going to be running. If you plan on sled pulling or drag racing it would be wise to go with a billet stator converter from Georend or Suncoast. Hit up Mike L and he will steer you in the right direction.
