Ok so here is what i got. My truck white smokes at cold start up for a few minutes.. Is this normal. Also once every two months i have to add just a little coolant. Is this a head gasket or am i bein paranoid? Is white smoke at start normal.?

Water condensed in the exhaust can cause white smoke. If your upper radiator hose is rock hard when you shut the engine off after running up to full boost, you have a head problem.

what do you mean full boost, so i do i just run the truck hot and shut down then check hose? of do you mean run the boost up and shut down and does this have to be immediate? I have been plagued with horrible throttle response and hesitation and lack of peak boost the problem for quite some time now and have yet to figure it out could there be a connection???

white smoke is equal to unburned fuel:

why unburned fuel:

- low compression ratio
- retarded timing
- to much fuel injected

No, just take it up to full throttle a few times, then pull into your driveway, shut down, pop the hood and see if the hose is hard.
