White smoke is partial burnt fuel and black smoke is raw unburnt fuel

Think about it next itme your at a pull you don't see fire coming out the stack when the truck's sitting there idling do you? But with some trucks as soon as it's spooled you can see a faint glimer of fire at the base of the stack. Also here's something to try if your brave enough take a lighter and try lighting the white smoke it will not burn then try lighting the black smoke and stand back because you'll catch fire if your not careful. Henice the black smoke is raw fuel. I'm done with thread cause If I look at it I will post something mean and a mod will remove me from the site which I don't want to happen.

Dump fuel on hot embers and watch the white smoke.

Dump it on a hot campfire and watch the black smoke.

Pretty simple.

I really would NOT try to light the white fuel vapor. You might not like the result. If you get it to light, it's going to flash.
