Im getting my truck ready for XDP diesel nationals this weekend at Englishtown.

Right now I've been running my 20x10 BMFs with 420s aired down to 32 psi ish. not horrible 60's. 1.79 or so but I am wondering if I'm loosing a lot with all the rotating weight.

I'm debating on running my stock wheels to save weight but I'm worried about loosing all my traction. Whats your opinions? stay with the heavy wheels and have traction or take the gamble and try to save weight?
Stock wheels have two old all terrain tires and two brand new cooper at3's

I really want to get down into the 11's without spraying too much so I'm grasping at whatever I can.

I'd guess that you might loose a tiny bit on the 60' by switching to the stock tires, but I'd bet your ET will still be the same if not faster because of the loss in rotational mass...my guess is that it would be close to a wash...

There's one way to find out fer sure...take both sets and run back to back down the track on different sets and post your results:rolleyes:

Righteyeblind has cut 1.59 60's with a 20x9 nitto 420 305 50r/20. 32psi is to much air IMOP. I would drop the rear to 20 ish and the fronts to 25 ish and adjust up and down from there. Pretty close to what Reece was running in his... Your setup is going to be real important for a good 60, shocks, traction bars, spring clamps, tires, air pressure, etc. etc. it all plays together....

Yeah I'm not sure if it's worth switching them around. If I could get a good launch on stockers I think I would be able to knock off some time. I need to loose .15
Probably be the last time I run this year

265/75/16 on the stock wheels

I've seen a couple guys get down that low on 420s but the harder I launched it started spinning pretty hard. Maybe the pressure is too much. I may have to switch to good shocks. I have traction bars, bolts all the way out. Maybe I'll just eat the weight and work on the 60'

Air pressure depends alot on wheel width, a skinnier wheel can go less pressure without cupping as bad, I know I can blow off all 4 of my toyo proxes there 285's on lmm wheels, but that's on the street

Maybe I'll run the 420s again with lower pressure see if I can get more than a 10psi launch. I'll be spray a small 35hp shot if needed. Being a stock bottom end I need to be careful. Whatever timing is in the race tune from Kory. He didnt feel the need to pull timing.
