A standard fixed nozzel or the variable nozzel found on my LLY? And is there a way to make mine a fixed nozzel?

It is in "Turbo Talk"...

Good point. In that case - i think it ends up depending on what the overall goal is. If it's a DD but some extra performance is wanted - tuning can surely get you somewhere.

A wastegated vs vvt is something im sure could be debated and has been debated over and over. I'd think that they each have some advantages and disadvantages when it gets to serious performance. I love my Danville turbo - which is vvt. With EFI i've got it spooling me up on the line from just off idle to about 15 psi in less than 5 seconds. I know that's not a huge accomplishment, but at my elevation it really is pretty impressive in my book.

I know there's advantages to the wastegated turbos - like with drive pressure and such, but i wouldn't be able to comment much either way on them. I just know what i finally have sitting under the hood works good for my performance applications.

Well yesterday my buddy in his 03 dmax beat me by about 3 trucks in 1/8th mile. We both had programmers on stock, I figured it was either turbo or his being stock height still

after my recent experience with taller tires, i'd say for sure that could be part of the problem. I switched back to stock height and gained .25 second on my 0-60 over 2 inch taller tires. 4.25 0-60 according to efi (not a programmer or other test) and was previously 4.55 - 4.70 with the taller tires.
