Which is a better programmer?

I am new to diesel trucks and I was wondering what is the better programmer. The edge juice with attitude color touch screen or the PPE Xcelerator standard power programmer. I'm never going to go with upgraded turbos or anything so I really don't feel like I need EFI Live. Thanks in advance.

The PPE programmer is a great option, look for them used as they can be had for very cheap... also where are you located?

I used the edge in my LBZ but sold it and bought some guages and EFI and I am really glad I made the switch. The truck runs way better and it's programable if u do upgrade anything. Right now I have a pretty much stock truck but you never know I am pretty sure I cought the bug.

I have had both and i like the edge alot it has the led gauges built in and you can pick between 5 or 6 programs on the fly while the truck is rolling the ppe reacts faster because it loads rite into the computor but if you want to pull up to the lite and add a different load into it your gonna have to pull over plug in they are both good programers and will work very good for you either way you want to go,see Henry from creatures of the nite performance he will hook you up :thumb:

PPE for my vote. I kept it after installing EFI just to have it if I have to help a guy on the road etc. It's all clear and open to use on a truck even if I buy another LBZ it's in the box. Standard model that 225 tune gets it and puts down good MPG with a lite foot. The PPE is advertised to improve MPG or money back was in the mags a few months back even might still be active claim if you check. EFI is the tool to tune with I learned after having it done by a sharp tuner and dyno just to see that difference of the two.

Had a Edge Juice with Attiude and the truck ran good for me. Heard the Ppe was really good. So I sold the Edge and bought a Ppe. The Ppe is not right the Rpm's don't have a red line just wide open. Thier service is not that good tried to get them to fix it and they won't. The programmer locked up and had to send it in and it took them a month to fix it. So the Edge gets my vote. Till I can get EFI

My first chip was the edge I had to send if off twice because it was shutting the truck off going down the road . Then had a super chip it was ok, then a quadzilla it would freeze up in the middle of tuning . The last was a PPE Hot+2 it was great but it got the transmission. I would say if you only want a little more power and better fuel mileage I would go with PPE standard. PPE has the best plug and play tuner out there and the standard is cheaper than the race tuner or hot+ 2 if you don't want the big tunes or a suncoast

Yeah I definitely do not need the the hot+2. I don't wanna destroy my trans. Just want some more power and better mpg. I have also been looking at a MBRP 5" stainless turbo back exhaust.

Just because it's a hot race does not mean you have to run any higher level then you want. The one I sent you a price for is the best bang if I sold you the lower level ones they would run just as high if not higher.

To bad you aren't closer I have a Edge Juice with the Attitude and I believe the EGT probe never installed I'd let you try. IMO since you're only looking for a mild tow tune for MPG your better off with Edge IMO.

I have had em both and by far would go with PPE. I have had 01, 02,03,04,05 and now an 07.5. I had run the edge in the Lb7 and the LLY. I along with many others have had problems with firmware and mechanical failure due to being a module mounted under the hood I spose? PPE is a great choice, they have many different tunes to choose from that are much better imo. I have since moved on to EFI but would run PPE if I was not running EFI.

Welcome, you are the closeest thing I have seen to a neighbor on here, I have nothing to add, except I went from a predator to Efi and I absolutely love it:D
