It time to upgrade the HZJ80 drivetrain. Would like to keep front and rear diffs standard at this stage. Would like info on previous conversions and what combo engine and auto. Was the original transfer case used? Any help would be greatly needed to get this project up and going. Thanks.

As far as the t case i would think it would depend if the t case comes off the correct side.I would use the t case from the d max donner, its to easy to mount the push button 4x4 in the dash. All the d max engines are very capable,i like the lb7 as its the simplest to work on in my opinnion with the exception of the injectors the lbz lmms with the 6 speed trans is very nice also.

The 4L80E might be worth looking into for a swap like that. It would be lighter and easier to fit, and I would think the transfer case options would be good. Sounds like a cool swap!
